Everyday skills Adult basics
Everyday Skills is a 3-session private coaching series for dogs 12+ months old. Whether you're returning to training after a break, welcoming a new adult dog into your home, feeling stuck with daily behavior challenges, or wanting to add a little fun to your training — this package meets you where you are.
We’ll focus on practical, sustainable training for real-life situations — things like walking calmly, coming when called, and managing excitement. Sessions focus on your dog’s unique personality and needs. This isn’t obedience for obedience’s sake — it’s support that actually fits your dog, your home, and your life. $255
Areas of focus:
Navigating walks with less pulling and more presence
Developing advanced recall and redirection for high-energy behaviors like jumping and nipping
Supporting your dog’s emotional regulation with settle, wait, and stay
Strengthening your communication patterns
Understanding how your dog’s behavior is shaped by their LEGS (learning, environment, genetics, self)
Includes:
Weekly recap emails with session highlights and home strategies
Handouts and video support
Flexible session format (in-home or hybrid)
Invitation to continue with advanced or specialty support
This package is ideal for building or rebuilding essential life skills like walking, recall, and calm behavior while growing in ease confidence together. This package may not be a good fit for those wanting rigid training outcomes or have dogs with moderate to severe reactivity issues. Please scroll down to view our behavior consulting service.
Adult Advanced Basics
For dogs 1 year and older who have a foundation of basic skills and are ready for more. Whether your dog learned skills through our Adult Basics package or somewhere else, this series will help you go deeper, not just do more.
This package is for families who want to build confidence and resilience using play, regulation, and communication as core tools and explore cooperative care, walking, and enrichment with more depth. This program is not a good fit for those who want a training style that skips over relationship or emotional needs.
We’ll cover:
Body language literacy and low-pressure handling strategies
Real-world walking support through games, safety tools, and defensive moves
Confidence-building through movement, novelty, and enrichment
Cooperative care foundations you can use at home or with your vet/groomer
Emotional regulation techniques for both dogs and humans
Understanding how adult life stage and environment influence behavior
We’ll build off your dog’s current abilities while introducing new, real-life applications — from cooperative care to walking games, emotional regulation, and confidence-based enrichment. These lessons are rooted in the LEGS model (learning, environment, genetics, self) and designed for clarity, connection, and adaptability. $255
Includes:
• Brief recap emails with practice prompts and links
• Curated handouts and videos
• In-person or hybrid sessions depending on location and goals
• Option to continue with specialty workshops or a Walk With Me session
Custom Support for Adult Dogs
One-on-one help for real-life learning or challenges, tailored to your dog — and you!
Every dog is different. And every family has their own set of needs, goals, and capacity. Whether you’re hoping to fine-tune life skills, address a specific issue, or get support with behavior that’s starting to feel like too much, we’re here to help. Single sessions are $90. Packages of three sessions or more reduce each session to $85. 1 hour behavior consultations with included half hour follow-up, notes, and behavior plan are $135.
This option is for families with dogs 4 months or older who are looking for:
✔️ A custom training plan for your unique dog
✔️ A single session to tune up or troubleshoot
✔️ A thoughtful, non-judgmental behavior consultation
✔️ Support beyond obedience — especially for dogs with big feelings or long histories
You don’t have to figure out the “right” service on your own. Start with a free 15-minute discovery call and we’ll talk through what’s going on, what kind of support makes sense, if we’re a good match for your needs, and how we can help.
💬 How we work:
We don’t offer quick fixes or obedience only, control-based training.
We do offer coaching, collaboration, and a commitment to your dog’s emotional well-being.
All of our work is guided by the LEGS model: Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self.
You won’t leave with a generic checklist. You’ll leave with understanding, tools, and a training plan that respects everyone’s needs — including yours.

What we can work on together
Because our sessions are personalized, no two training plans look exactly the same. We don’t follow a script — we build support based on your dog’s unique behavior, history, and your family’s real-life needs. That said, here are some of the themes and skill areas we often address:
Real-World Life Skills
We teach everyday communication that helps your dog understand what’s being asked — and helps you respond with clarity, not pressure.
Depending on your dog’s experience, we might explore clusters like:
Attention, recall, and focus in distracting settings
Calm behavior at home or in public (sit, down, stay, wait, settle)
Handling routines like leash-ups, greetings, and rest
Confidence and comfort with vet care, grooming, and new situations
Each of these clusters is supported with practical games, enrichment, movement, or consent-based handling — so the learning feels good for you and your dog.
Emotional Regulation + Advocacy
Sometimes what looks like “disobedience” is actually anxiety, overstimulation, or confusion — or even pain, life stage transitions, or sensory overload from our very human, ever-changing world.
We can help you:
Support your dog through barking, jumping, leash-pulling, or “selective hearing”
Use movement-based games and sensory breaks to prevent meltdowns
Learn gentle advocacy strategies when your dog needs space or support
Understand what stress, arousal, and “reactivity” really mean — and what to do next
Whether your dog is going through a teenage phase, adjusting to new routines, or just wired a little differently because of breed or background, we use the LEGS model (learning, environment, genetics, self) to make sense of what’s happening. You’ll learn to notice patterns, create relief, and move forward with more confidence — without needing everything to be perfect.
Walking Skills & Out-and-About Readiness
Walks aren’t just about movement — they’re about connection, safety, and trust.
You might work on:
Leash and directional skills for smoother navigation
Defensive handling or safety maneuvers
Support for jumpy, barky, or nervous dogs on walks
Real-world strategies like handling leash greetings, navigating crowded paths, or decompressing after a stressful outing
We’ll meet your dog where they’re at — and help you feel more capable, too.
