Behavior Support

Behavior Support Journey

When life with your dog starts feeling stressful, confusing, or overwhelming, you're not alone.

Whether you're dealing with leash reactivity, barking, fear, visitors, handling challenges, or another behavior concern, meaningful change begins with understanding what's driving the behavior—not just managing the symptoms.

Every behavior support journey at Blue Mountain Canine begins with a comprehensive Behavior Consultation. During this session, we'll learn about your dog's history, daily routines, health, environment, genetics, learning experiences, and your family's goals. Together, we'll identify the factors influencing behavior and create a practical plan that fits your dog and your life.

Our approach is relationship-centered and informed by learning, environment, genetics, and individual differences. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, we create thoughtful recommendations that support lasting change for both dogs and humans.

Common Behavior Concerns We Help With

• Leash reactivity and stressful walks

• Barking and alert behaviors

• Fear, confidence, and adjustment to new situations

• Visitors, greetings, and household manners

• Jumping, mouthing, and overexcitement

• Cooperative care for veterinary visits and grooming

• Newly adopted dogs and transition support

• Real-life walking skills and public outings

After your consultation, we'll recommend the level of support that's right for your goals. Some families need only a few coaching sessions, while others benefit from a more comprehensive package tailored to their dog's needs.

Follow-Up Coaching

What Happens After the Consultation?

Every dog and every family is different. Some behavior concerns can be addressed in a single follow-up coaching session, while others benefit from several weeks of support and practice.

After your consultation, we'll recommend the level of coaching that best fits your goals, your dog's needs, and your family's capacity. You'll always know the cost before deciding whether to continue, and there's never any obligation to purchase additional sessions.
